What ALXVNDR Sounds is
ALXVNDR Sounds is an instrumental background music catalogue: hip-hop, trap and drill instrumentals, ranging from laid-back to high-energy. The music is free to listen to on our YouTube channel and here on alxvndr.com.
We are not a beat store and we don't sell exclusive rights. We make music for people to listen to, and we license the catalogue to businesses that need background music they can use without worrying.
How this music is made
Our tracks are produced using AI music generation, with human selection, editing, arrangement and mastering. We say this openly, on every platform, and we tick the AI disclosure box on every upload.
What is human in each track
- The selection, most of what gets generated never leaves the hard drive
- The arrangement and edit decisions on the final master
- The mastering
- The ALXVNDR voice tag, a recorded vocal performance by a session vocalist
We think you deserve to know how the music is made. It also means we're careful about what we claim. See Rights, honestly below.
Two versions of every track
TAGGED. Carries the spoken ALXVNDR voice tag near the beginning. This is the version you hear on YouTube and social platforms, and the version available to download here. It's our signature, and it's how the catalogue stays recognisable.
CLEAN. No voice tag. This version is not published publicly. It's what we supply to businesses, productions and clients under a licensing agreement.
Please don't edit, cut around, or otherwise remove the voice tag from a TAGGED track. If you need a version without it, that's exactly what the CLEAN master is for. Get in touch.
What you can do without asking
- Listen, on repeat, anywhere
- Stream our videos, add them to playlists, share the links
- Embed our YouTube videos on your site or blog
- Play the music while you work, study, train, drive or cook
- Use it in a personal, non-commercial video: a private vlog, a student project, a portfolio piece that isn't selling anything
No permission needed for any of the above. No form to fill in. No invoice.
What needs permission first
Get in touch at [email protected] before you use our music for:
- Monetised video content on YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, or any platform where the content earns
- Advertising, promotional or branded content of any kind
- Film, television, games or any production
- Podcast intros, outros or beds
- Background music played in a business: shop, café, gym, salon, hotel, office
- Apps, software or products that include audio
- Any streaming or distribution platform release
- Any use where you're being paid, or the content makes money
This isn't us being difficult. Commercial use is available, and it's a genuine part of what we do. It just needs a short conversation and terms in writing, so both sides know where they stand.
What is never permitted
- Registering any ALXVNDR track with YouTube Content ID, Facebook Rights Manager, or any collecting society or rights organisation. This is the one that matters most. See below.
- Reselling, redistributing or sub-licensing our music
- Presenting the music as your own composition or production
- Removing or obscuring the ALXVNDR voice tag
- Using our music to train AI or machine learning models
- Using our music in content that is unlawful, hateful, or harassing
Rights, honestly
Most music libraries write this section to sound as threatening as possible. We'd rather be accurate.
Our tracks are AI-generated. Under current guidance from the US Copyright Office, purely AI-generated audio may not qualify for copyright protection at all, because copyright requires human authorship. We're not going to pretend otherwise in order to sound scarier.
What that means in practice
- We do not overclaim. We won't assert authorship of something we can't claim authorship of.
- We do not register our catalogue with Content ID or any collecting society, and we will not. Doing so would generate automated claims against other people's videos on the basis of rights we may not hold. We think that's wrong, and we've ruled it out permanently.
- The terms on this page are terms of use for this site and our downloads, an agreement between us and you, rather than a copyright assertion.
- Some elements do involve human authorship, including the recorded voice tag and the editing and mastering of each master.
We'd rather have a policy you can trust than one that bluffs.
If you ever get a copyright claim
It didn't come from us.
We don't register our music with Content ID or any rights management system, so we cannot and do not issue automated claims. If a video of yours using ALXVNDR music ever receives a copyright claim, email us at [email protected] and we will confirm in writing that the claim didn't originate from us, so you can dispute it.
Licensing for business
If you need music for a business, whether that's background music for your premises, content for your brand, a production, or a custom track written to brief, that's what the CLEAN masters are for.
We work out terms individually, based on what you actually need. There's no self-serve checkout, and that's deliberate: we'd rather understand the use case than sell you the wrong thing.

Takedowns and questions
If you believe any track infringes your rights, email [email protected] with the track title and a description of the issue. We take this seriously and will respond. If something needs to come down, it comes down. We're not going to argue with you about it.
Any other question about how you can use the music: same address. We'd genuinely rather you asked.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the law and platform rules develop. This area is moving quickly. The date at the top always shows the current version. Permissions already granted in writing aren't affected by later changes.
